As the weather warms up, the potential for summer storms increases. Widespread outages along the East and Gulf Coast remain high in the warmer months. Recently a large storm was coming up the Florida coastline, and Duke Energy, one of the nation’s largest energy providers, started preparing for potential outages. They needed back-up starting air for their emergency gen-sets should the power be interrupted.

Duke Energy reached out to Sauer USA Rentals on a Saturday morning. Upon receiving the call, our sales, administrative, and logistics staff instantly got to work to find a solution that would fit into this company’s contingency plan.

The equipment needed was determined to be a WP81L, Passat Series, 24/7 continuous duty compressor package, and a 50 ft hose. The rental coordinator arrived at the warehouse to comprehensively check the compressor package and ancillary equipment before shipment. The transportation was ordered, and the equipment was loaded on the truck the same day and delivered over 1,000 miles away in less than 48 hours!

The Sauer USA rental team works around the clock for our customers, and they know they can rely on us at a moment’s notice.

“This was an emergent need by the customer so naturally they were very eager to get the equipment as soon as possible. I was in constant communication with sales, logistics, and the customer to get this equipment shipped out the same day. It truly was a team effort.” – Ty’rell Jackson, Rental Coordinator
